The exhibition A Gateway To Possible Worlds. Art & Science-fiction traces the critical and socially engaged science fiction that emerged from the margins of the dissenting hippy movement and explores the flaws in our immediate future, using philosophic, psychologic, political and social themes.
Through 180 works from the end of the 1960s to the present day, spread over more than 2,300 m², the exhibition seeks out the links between the imagined universe and reality. In the mode of self-fulfilling prophecies, science fiction continues to shape our vision of the future and contributes to its construction.
The exhibition runs from 5th November 2022 to 10th April 2023 at the Centre Pompidou-Metz. The Centre Pompidou-Metz is open every day except Tuesdays and 1st May.
Free for under 26-year-olds.
