Introduction
In the late 18th century, the bishop of Metz entrusted Blondel with the construction of a new bishop’s palace. Work started in 1785 only to be interrupted by the French Revolution. Set around a courtyard and respecting the overall style of the place d’Armes, this beautiful building became the Covered Market in 1833.
