Introduction
A visit to the roots of Europe.
It was in Scy-Chazelles, on the slopes of the Messin region, that one weekend in April 1950, Robert Schuman, then Minister of Foreign Affairs, had the audacity to conceive a "bold act" that would change the course of history. In collaboration with other European statesmen, this great visionary created the conditions for lasting peace in Europe.
Enter the world of Robert Schuman by visiting his home, a typical Lorraine residence from the 1950s. Discover the beginnings of European integration through our interactive museum. Appreciate the architecture of the 12th-century fortified church of Saint-Quentin, listed as a Monument Historique, where the Father of Europe is laid to rest. Finally, let yourself be tempted by a stroll through the flowers of the Jardin des Plantes de chez Nous.
Throughout the year, an eclectic program of events for all ages will give you a better understanding of Europe, allow you to discover Robert Schuman's other facets, and give you the chance to spend some quality time with your family.
