Introduction
The exhibition "Louise Nevelson. Mrs. N's Palace" presents a monograph on this icon of inimitable style, now recognized as one of the major sculptors of the 20th century. A pioneer of installation art, Nevelson's art is generally evoked in terms of cubism, constructivism, the ready-made or the collage practices of the dada and surrealist movements, but her sources of inspiration are much broader. Fifty years after his last monograph in France, this exhibition invites us to immerse ourselves in his multiple atmospheres, in the hope of fulfilling his wish to present his sculptures as part of a total space, an experience to be lived with all the senses, rather than as individual entities.
