Introduction
The poet Paul Verlaine was born in Metz on March 30, 1844. Since 2012, the house in which he was born has been a Maison d'écrivain, which will receive the Maison des Illustres label in December 2019. The second floor of this opulent 18th-century building has been turned into a museological space devoted to the biography, work and historical, literary and artistic context of the famous Metz poet.
Tours can be self-guided or guided for groups of 4 or more. Visits for groups of up to 19 people are by appointment only.
Individuals, families and groups are welcome, as are schools from elementary school to university. Please give at least 48 hours' notice.
