Introduction
To mark the 10th anniversary of the reopening of the Porte des Allemands, the City of Metz invites you to discover the "10 Years Already" exhibition.
From September 21 to November 24, 2024, the City of Metz's Cultural Heritage Department is hosting an exhibition celebrating the 10th anniversary of the reopening of the Porte des Allemands to the public in 2014. Saturdays and Sundays, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. This exhibition invites you to follow step-by-step the evolution of the history and architecture of this emblematic monument of Metz's heritage, and also presents recent archaeological discoveries linked to the monument.
You'll discover how it was restored and fitted out to host the many activities that have been taking place there over the past 10 years, turning it into a genuine space for shared culture. 10 years on" is also an opportunity to reinterpret the Porte des Allemands thanks to a virtual reality walk, to appreciate works linked to the tumultuous history of the Porte on loan from the Musée de la Cour d'Or, or to admire a magnificent Lego ® brick model of the monument.
The exhibition can be viewed during Porte des Allemands opening hours: in September from Tuesday to Sunday inclusive, 2pm to 7pm; in October and November from Tuesday to Sunday inclusive, 2pm to 6pm.
